Release Notes 3.6 – 3.6.2605 (May 2026)

This update introduces AI-powered custom tool digitization from spec sheets, enables multi-operation Feeds & Speeds exports, and delivers advanced turning geometry controls for SolidCAM.

Custom Tools & AI Digitization

  • Instant Tool Ingestion: Digitize and import custom tools into My Inventory directly from manufacturer PDF cut sheets, technical drawing images, or product URLs.
  • Property Extraction: Upgraded AI parameter extraction to automatically map catalog spec sheets to standard ISO tooling properties.

Job Export & CAM Integrations

  • Multi-Operation Feeds & Speeds: Standard XML exports now support exporting unique, feature-specific feeds and speeds for every operation within a job.
  • SolidCAM Turning: Integrated Corner Contact Radius (CCR), Left Corner Radius (LCR), and Right Corner Radius (RCR) parameters to drive accurate turning tool positioning.
  • hyperMILL Units: Job exports now automatically respect user-defined unit preferences (Inch vs. Metric).

3D Models & Viewer

  • Body Classification: Fixed CUT vs. NOCUT classification rules to ensure indexable inserts consistently register as cutting bodies and correctly replace gauge inserts on shanks.
  • Visibility: Enhanced bounding box readability for miniature/micro-tooling and complex tool assemblies.
  • Orientation: Corrected rendered thumbnail orientations and updated the 3D model parser for Seco and Mitsubishi tools.

Feeds & Speeds

  • Calculation Fallbacks: Added automatic fallback logic for Radial Depth of Cut (AeMin/AeMax) when catalog boundaries are undefined.
  • Catalog Refresh: Updated machining calculation data for Moldino / Hitachi tooling.

User Interface & Inventory

  • Quick Rename: Inline rename dialogs now open immediately with auto-focused text fields upon selection.
  • Tool Identifiers: Increased custom Tool Number character limits to 10 characters.
  • Assemblies: Added a shortcut to initiate a new tool assembly directly from the Tool Assembly view.
